Лирика

1. Songs Of Battle

Afar the torch was lit and now it has grown to a river of flames
So very cold are these trails of north that we'll march singing forth
Fearless we rush upon your blades, Until death or victory and fame
Let our hymn be sang upon the slaughterlands of man

Songs of battle, born in flames
Forged in the fire and clashes of steel
Songs of battle, born in flames
From a paganland still free

Upon meadows of blood and lakes of fire our hymn echoes
Ever mighty, ever cheerful, a spirit never to be crushed
Even the mighty men will one day fall but the might itself will never fade
In stories told, in pictures drawn our hymn goes ever on

Though one day we'll face Tuoni's rapids
Dead Land's black streams
Our hymn still proudly echoes
Generations change, sharpest blades come eventually blunt
But in the midst of battle these songs are ever sung

2. House Of Hel

Follow me into the water
Across the river
Follow me to my death
Into a new world

Cold dark and misty
Adobe of the dead
In the world of Nifelheim
The House of Hel

Guarded by Garm, the House of Hel
Gjoll the Impassable encircles the realm
Helheim, world of the dead where no life dwells
Once you have entered you'll never leave

Follow me into the water
Across the river
Follow me to my death
Into a new world

Hraesvelg the corpse eater
Watches over the realm
In the form of an eagle
He makes the winds blow

Guarded by Garm, the House of Hel
Gjoll the Impassable encircles the realm
Helheim, world of the dead where no life dwells
Once you have entered you'll never leave

3. The Rune-Singer's Path

Once on my wintry journeys
Resting in the gloomy light
Of thousand stars in sight
My sword by my side and my hood pulled warmly over me

I filled my lungs
With chill scent of the night
And closed my eeyes for a good night's sleep, I closed my eyes

I saw two ravens circle in the sky
Soaring high, within the treetops they flied,
One came down to me and croaked in a weird language that strangely made
perfect sense to me

"If it's knowledge you seek, please do
follow me, I will lead you to a man,
the greatest man of all"

I cleansed my soul in the thousand lakes,
Bathed my heart in the streams of knowledge,
I cleansed my soul in the thousand lakes,
Bathed my heart in the streams of knowledge

I followed the ravens across the woods
Until we came to a place near mountains root,
There was an cavern carved in stone,
Carved in Stone
An old man stood there alone
One eyed he was, cloaked in hood
Softly he spoke, invited me into his hut
He showed me things I couldn't believe

He showed me places I didn't know existed,
He teached me wisdom far beyond my imagination

Be hailed ye God of gods
Be hailed ye all wise
O' Odin all knowing
Be hailed, ye hailed be

4. Soulswan

Night arrives again in the northern woods
Cloaking all light under its dim hood
All is silent except for the winds mellow croon
Echoing in the midwinter night

And when shadeof the swan reflects from ice
You will know that someone has died
And when the wind blows from the north
you can hear the souls cry

And in the moon's pale light
Death took the form of an swan
Up from the depths of Tuonela it rose to its wings
Age old song of death it sings

And when shade of the swan reflects from ice
You will know that someone has died
And when the wind blows from the north
As she silently flies through the nightskies

5. Twelve Valiant Men

Take the breastplates of your ancestors
Pick up the shields and mighty swords
Take the powerful helmets and saddle your horses
The horn has sounded for the sign of the battle!

Onwards to battle they rode
Twelve Valiant Men
Unsheat your fathers' swords
Warriors from the north

Through snow and ice they bravely ride
With flags raised up high
The banner of the ancient pagan empire
The sign for their enemies to die!

Swords swing, steel sings, no mercy to the enemy!
Onwards the enemy marches under the sign of the cross

6. Burning The Lake Alue

From Tuonela the worms crawl to earth to gnaw the living
To bring forth the death on whose formless shadows I ride
From the soil of dreary lake Alue arrive the worms with Manala's fire
To burn the living to ashes!

And thrice on a summer night
Lake Alue foams sky high
It's burning ash fills lungs of life
It's shores scorch dead black

In the shades of this devastation I seek the dying
Under fiery skies where only swan who glides is a burning kind
Evoke the end, unleash the deviltry
It's time for the harvest of mine

Hin Onde – Burning the Lake Alue

7. Fimbulwinter

The ravens have returned
To the snowy hills
Winter is here again
But this time it is forever

I hear the winds summon me
The winds call my name
I hear the winds summon me
It's time to meet again

The time has arrived
At last
This is the fimbulwinter

See the dark clouds form in the sky
The winterstorms arrive
Flowers of frost abloom
I can hear the icy winds call my name

I hear the winds summon me
The winds call my name
I hear the winds summon me
It's time to meet again

The time has arrived
At last
This is the fimbulwinter

This is the fimbulwinter!

8. Through Sinister Landscapes (To The Dale Of The Dead Pt. I)

He wanted to prove what fathers had foreseen
What had been from the ancient writings
Interpret was more than a myth

...More than a myth

Recklessly, filled with enthusiasm
He wandered ahead with stories and sages
From childhood echoing on his mind
Unconciosly guiding him

...Stories guiding him

Eagerly he pursued ahead to make his seek complete
To get himself the mightiest weapon of all

In the denser firwood
Darkness blurring his sight
The bolts of Ukko storming up high
Horns of Tapio confusing his mind

Through sinister landscapes of Pohjola to find
A river Tuonela on whose black flood glides a swan

...A sole swan
...A sole swan
...A Soulswan

Leading to the dale of the dead.

9. Language Of The Woods

Came the long winter's cold and told it's tale to me
Flew the moonbirds suggesting spells of the gleaming moon
Blew the wind with it's mystifying whispers
Swaying firs compiling secret words
For those with a mind to know

Ancient phares within the treetops
The language of the ages old
Spells never buried, the bard eternal,
The spirit of woodland sings it's wisdom, spreads it's magical might
And luckless lands of north reveal their secret forth

10. 24th Of September 1155

Awakening at dawn, to horns alarming call
Ships from the west had been seen heading towards us
With the sign of cross they enslave our land
In vain they spill blood because blind they are to see

We will never be slain
Our heritage will always remain
Over these hills, along these lakes
In the spirit of these woods they'll hear our calls

They'll feel it in their hearts as it flows through their veins
With northern pride northmen see true from false
And false men will not long rule these lands
The warrior in us will wake again!

We will never be slain
Our heritage will always remain
Over these hills, along these lakes
In the spirit of these woods they'll hear our calls
And we ride forth,
Until the last of us will fall!

No matter how outnumbered
We took our shields, saddled our horses, drew our blades
Towards seashore eachone headed
Our foes realised we can not be persuaded to their will

But neither are we here to die
We came for our honour and for our heathen pride
After first horse galloped ahead no steps were taken back
Berserk we fight
And we ride forth,
Until the last of us will fall!

11. Paganheart

Glittering mails to warriors high
Strongest blades to men of steel
Blades upon which we shall rise

We're the ones with the paganheart
Proud is our spirit, our will is hard
We're the ones with the paganheart
to conquer back what once was ours

Blades which will cut your throats
Endowed with unimaginable strength
We will reduce you to silence!

And so the night became
And the battle begun
One by one we cut down the enemies
We're less in numbers but our will is strong as steel
Onwards we march
Under the banner of the ancient pagan empire!

Glittering mails to warriors high
Strongest blades to men of steel
Blades which will cut your throats
We will reduce you to silence!
