1. Who Killed Vinyl?

(Intro)

2. Isolation

Alone in my cellar I lie awake at night
hold my breath and I wait for the return of the light
I don't deserve to be mentioned – don't deserve to be free
don't deserve to be happy – I don't deserve to just be
Cause I'm me, myself and I
don't know who and don't know why.
All I can do's to be waiting for the day
the three of us will say goodbye
a six-feet-under-no-more-try
but until then I hear my guardians say:

Welcome to your isolation – where no one cares if you bitterly cry
welcome to your isolation – the only way out is to die!!

"Me" always wanted the good life – "myself" always wanted the bad
and I just refused to be normal – then the other two simply saw red
a schizo is never alone – so we made an arrangement to follow the rule:
"If one of us appears, the other two sleep" – but I was an arrogant fool
Cause I'm me, myself and I...

Welcome to your isolation...

"Me" burned the house of the holy, "myself" lived a silent man's life
and I simply wanted to get rid of them both – so I tried it with a gun and a knife.
So now here I sit in my cellar – it's not what you'd call a jail, yes, I know,
but behind the glass door we're not only three anymore– there's a judge and a whole courtyard show.
So in the end it's okay to be lonely – the others tell me `bout their lifes everyday
– they go to work, live their dreams and sometimes it seems that I'd finally be fading away –
`cause I'm me, myself and I...

Welcome to your isolation...Is to die – out is to die – is to die...

3. Lucifer's Hotel (Hang Over City)

I checked in at 3 p.m. and I never checked out
`cause I got trapped between questions and shaddows of doubt.
The porter gave me the key to Room number 666
and the liftboy just mumbled: "we'll fix it in the mix!"
The cleaningwoman had gone to find the holy grail
– to drink the blood of the guilty and the ones who never fail.
The waitress whispered: "I wish you well!"
and it smelled a little bit strange at Lucifer's Hotel.

As I opened the door I couldn't believe my eyes:
naked women everywhere but then I heard the cries
of all the punished sinners and all the fallen tears
and then I heard nothing anymore `cause someone had cut off my ears.
"Now you'll only hear what I say!" said the devil with a grin.
I'm the owner of this place. Would you like a whiskey or a gin?
I wanted to say `No thanks' but then I thought: `What the hell
-I'm a dead man anyway – this is Lucifer's hotel!' "
Hang over city – where the rain burns red
hang over city – where you can dance with the living dead!

So we drank all night and we drank all day
and then I dared to ask him: "what's the price I'll have to pay?"
"You didn't understand!", he said, "I don't know if you'll end up here.
I just wanted to invite you as a guest to kill your fear
cause you live so carefully that you don't dare to live at all.
You'll be innocent as a baby when you hear the reaper call.
All I want's to free you from your selfmade prison cell
and to show you around – here at Lucifer's hotel!"

Hang over city...

Then he called the gorgeous women and told `em to give me a kiss
and the rest of the procedure, too – "this is what you're gonna miss
if you carry on like you did I promise you a boring life above
`cause there's a big difference between our orgies and their platonic love.
That's it for now, good night, my friend, enjoy yourself – goodbye!"
As I woke up the next morning I had back my ears and
I've been travelling around the world – left Hang over C. – and stories I can tell
`cause I chose the road that'll lead for sure to Lucifer's hotel

Hang over city...
Down the road that leads to nowhere – far away from the wishing well
you carry your load to Hangover City – back to Lucifer's Hotel...

4. Restless Heart

As you switched off the shining light of freedom
I was stumbling through the darkness of the night.
I fought the tears – I forced the fight.
I broke the walls to catch the might.
Sometimes right – sometimes wrong
– do I have to sing the same old song?

Restless heart – sleepless mind
– restrictions were a standstill of the killing kind.
Restless heart – get a brandnew card when the world falls apart
– I was born with a restless heart.

Rainy weather – I kept both hands on the wheel.
When dreams are fading I'm holdin' on to what is real.
Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?
Whatever you leave behind will be coming back to you.
Sometimes right...

Restless heart...

You made it silently clear that you want it your way
and in the end there was nothing left to say....
guit-solo: Nils

Restless heart...

5. Ambrosia

When you see your pain's reflection in the mirror of the truth
do you take the easy one-way-out to the lake of faded youth?
When you hear the whistle callin' and the reaper yells your name
do you scream for help – emergency – do you try to hide your shame?
You've been a winner – a looser – a sinner – bizarre
and now a saint in a top-less bar. (Ambrosia)

The sun shines bright on TV-screen
for those who're white-dressed, nice and clean
the bad black guys must always die
before a commercial tells another lie.
Alone in the darkness I sit and I stare
– had to learn long ago that life simply ain't fair.
Ambrosia – a voice from far make a wish on a falling star
– a tattoed scar – Ambrosia

When intelligence means "without a chance" in the cold grey morning light
and the words you speak in anger lead to love letters burning bright
do you dare to take an adventure trip to the island in the sun
where tomorrow's hope dies yesterday and your pride is on the run.
You've been a winner...

The sun shines bright on TV-screen...

The sun shines bright on TV-screen...

6. What If Darkness Was Brighter Than Light? (Trans-Destination)

Jesus and Buddha and Manitou's ex-squaws sat
on the blue-green magnolia-tree shore while Mohammed
was doing his daily jogging and the holy ghost was looking for a door.
The nightshift-squad was on their way home to their families and the
demons from down below shared a mighty big spliff and the sharks
of the riff were waiting for the beginning of the show.
"Do you have any clue what they're fighting for in our names?"
asked Jesus and took a deep toke "Not at all, bro",
said Mohammed and stopped running for a minute,"I think this holy-war-thing's nothing but a joke.
Well, maybe I said some things as I was angry and young but I never thought they'd take it for real!
But every excuse is a good one, you know when you're living to rape kill and steal!"

What if the gods beyond hate (trans-destination)
were simply victims of fate (sense of creation)
where would we run to and where could we hide?
What if our prayers would come true (trans-destination)
and all our fantasies, too (pain's fascination)
and what if darkness was brighter than light?

A raven dressed in black called the leader of the pack
brought them a drink and screamed:"redemption for free!"
Buddha smiled from one ear to the other and said:
"Excuse me, Sir, but I don't agree.
Salvation you can't get for nothing at all –
you always have to give something in return!"
"Whatever!", said the raven,
"I'm only a salesman and I work hard for the money I earn."
The last wales of destiny gave it one more try –
spread their wings and flew up to the pink clouds somewhere high in the sky
while the birds were swimming in the sea and the reaper was yelling:
"They ain't ready yet to die!!!"
"Stay cool, man, relax – they won't run away!", said Jesus and took his guitar
and he played dirty songs `till his fingers bled and a spaceship came travelling from far.
The flying saucer landed on the beach and a voice told them all: "Do not fear!
My name's 42, Allah, Jehova or God or simply Nature – do you have a beer?
You all know parts of me – but you don't know me whole
and now I'm retired from this masquarade ball!
I left the world I created – Do you want the job, Reaper?
All you have to do is to call!"

What if the gods beyond hate...

What if the gods beyond hate

7. My Little Friend

There you're standin' on the sidewalk with your suitcase in your hand
all your stuff's already in your new flat and alone I can't affort this one's rent.
I didn't mean to hurt you, baby, I didn't mean to make you cry
but now you say it's over finally and the last thing you do's
to ask me why – well, what can I say?

My little friend loves wet and warm places
He doesn't know love and he doesn't see faces.
Whenever the target's female and true
he takes over and makes me forget about you.
My little friend's ego's getting' bigger and bigger
as soon as someone pulls the trigger
and sometimes he just needs a helpin' hand
– that's the story of my life and my little friend

Well, in the earlier days I thought, I could win this fight
but his will's gettin' stronger every day and night.
When he smells a cat his alarmclock rings.
I feel like a puppet on barbwire strings.
So all I can do's to accept the truth
– at the borderline you ain't got nothing to lose!
So I wish you good luck and may life treat you well
while I'll keep on ridin' with my alltime pal!

My little friend...

So when finally I lay me down to rest and the good Lord grabs me by the chest
All I can say myself to defend's:"It wasn't me – it was my little friend"

My little friend's ego...

8. The Fiddler On The Skeleton Horse

I did my very best to get nowhere fast
– lived a life of sin without a chance to win
– commited suicide by ridin' side by side with the fiddler on the skeleton horse.
I drank my brain away told life to make my day
– used every drug I knew – the ones I didn't know, too
– jumped outta every plane in vain to share my pain with the fiddler on the skeleton horse!
Fiddler, Fiddler can you hear me? Fiddler, Fiddler can you see?
I'm not half the man that I used to be.
With every minute, every hour, every day, every year
I can feel you coming near!

Play your tune for me and I'll dance to my grave (fiddler on the skeleton horse)
where it's cold and calm – where it's peaceful and safe (fiddler on the skeleton horse)
and my astral body will be one with the force (fiddler on the skeleton horse)
when I'm gone with the fiddler on the skeleton horse

But now some fool up above made me fall in love
I met my reason to live and all I want is to give
her all the time that remains and to break free from the chains of the fiddler on the skeleton
horse.
Now suddenly I can hear the old fiddler appear
I turn around and he's there and I think: "this ain't fair!"
Now that I finally found a home and I'm no longer alone comes the fiddler on the skeleton horse.
Fiddler, Fiddler can you hear me? Fiddler, Fiddler can't you see?
I'm not half the man that I used to be. I 'm beggin' you please and I hope it's no crime:
please give me a little more time – then you can...

Play your tune for me and I'll dance to my grave...

The fiddler stops playin' and his voice sounds like a saw
"Normally I don't make deals, but now I'll break my own law!
I'll come back another time but I want something in return:
I'm real tired to ride alone so I want you to learn
to play the fiddle like I do and so shalt your wife
so both of you can join me when you've ended your lifes.
So, my friend, see you later and don't forget to live
and remember the promise you now have to give:

Play your tune for me and I'll dance to my grave...

9. Carry On

Hard times won't last forever – the wind will turn again
we do what we believe in and the very best we can
Oh, everybody needs a reason to live – stay gold and never give
up`till you're dead and gone – so:

Carry on –we gotta carry on – when the road is getting' rough –
times are getting tough – we gotta carry on.
Carry on – just carry on – on through the darkest night –
we won't give up the fight – we gotta carry on!

There must be a light at the end of the tunnel – "the forward impulse" makes us strong
'cause if you do believe in yourself and the future, too – you just can't go wrong.
Oh everybody needs a reason to live......

Carry on...

Oh, everybody needs a reason to live or we will crash just like a boat on a riff.
Oh, everybody sometimes hangs on a cliff but everybody needs a reason to live...

Carry on...

10. The End Of Infinity

The brave vikings of Valhalla went out ridin'on the wind
and Eric, the one-eyed chief of the posse, asked his horse for a peppermint
"Who the underworld do you think you are?" was all the stallion had to say,
"I don't get payed and I don't get layed and I'm tired of the games you play!"
I'm sure – we'll meet again – don't know where – don't know when.
You warriors of yesterday should start to think and learn.
The times have changed – you're dead for ages – and now this ain't your turn.

It's a long way home from the end of infinity
– on the run forever
from the burning of Rome to the sands of trinity
– someday we'll come together
at the end of infinity

In the ruins of Abu Simbel the Pharao's ghost appeared
– he gathered his fellow ghosts around `cause life as a ghost is sometimes weird.
"I'm a traveller through space and time, you know, actually from the 21st century.
And now I ride back to where I lost my love on this horse of destiny!
From my window I could see the highway – watchin' the trucks passin' by
– remember us standin' in the rain – remember the rose – before the river Nile made me live to die!
I'm sure we'll meet again – don't now where – don't know when.
Someday I'll be knocking at your door, you'll see,
and I hope you'll still be in love with me.

It's a long way home from the end of infinity...

It's a long way home from the end of infinity...

11. Mrs.Jealousy & Mr.Greed

Mrs.Jealousy and Mr.Greed
went down to the alley where the strangers meet
she carried a handbag full of fears,
broken promises and fallen tears.
He didn't own nothing but his clothes and a gun
– for a long long time he'd been on the run
– from city to city – from town to town
– tryin'to steel an emperor's crown.
Then they met on the wrong side of right where the truth is a lie
and the rays of the first morning light are only born to die!! (but let me tell you....)

The seed of reality – nightbreed in a cell-us free
to meet Mrs. Jealousy and Mr.Greed.
When your favourite guitar's refused to play the 12th bar
whenever you smell the heat and it melts your creed
– Mrs.Jealousy meets lonely Mr.Greed

Mrs.Jealousy and Mr.Greed
fell in love and got happy – yes indeed!
An oath in the night: "I'll be by your side!"
They finally got kids and a house and a cat
and while the bad turned good the good turned bad
and the moral of the story – well what can I say?
Life's way too short to let it ruin your day!
Then they met...

The seed of reality...

The seed of reality...

12. Set Me Free

I tried to pray for aims to find – tried to care for the sad
-to be a guide for the blind – for those who are wounded bad.
Sometimes I feel like I haven't had enough
even though the road is getting tough.
But when the times are getting much too hard
even the sun is afraid of the dark

Set me free from the pain (Set me free)

I'm a pilgrim for honesty in a renegade parade
– see what the faithless have done to me – dancin' on a razor's blade.
Shame on those who only see what they want to see
– blaming you – blaming me – without responsibility.
If you want a little peace sometimes you've gotta ride
a hundred miles of darkened trail before you catch the light.

Set me free...

There ain't no sense in running as fast as I can
But it's always worth it to start all over again.

Set me free...

13. Dolly The Sheep Meets Frank The Stein

Dolly the sheep meets Frank the Stein
– the brave new world's made of cocktailed genes
let's mix some DNS with some DNA
– looks a little bit strange, but that's o.k.
`cause the greatest wedding you've ever seen
is when Dolly the sheep meets Frank the Stein.

In the secret caves of yesterday
my last word's echoes fade away
and tompstones of my burning past
erase my thoughts now slowly fast
`cause the greatest wedding....

the roaring calm before the storm
kills those who keep you dry and warm.
The old ones sleep and the young ones fail.
The moon shines bright and cold and pale.
Hold on, my friend, behind the iron gate
the world's a melting pot so wait
for the wizzard's slime and the dark Lord's knights.
They bring the truth and some neon lights.
Before the black dressed widdows cry
maybe you should ask for a reason why
the game is lost and the losers still play
to win another dream's decay
`cause the greatest wedding...

She looks so innocent and lovely – holy-mountain shy
– faithfully offensive when it's time to say goodbye.
She goes to church on every Sunday – guys like us she wouldn't even see
but you'll never have a clue of what she does for charity:
She gives a helpin' wank – down at the local spermbank.
Sometimes she uses her lips – or she just swings with her hips.
She's like the sweetest melody
and in the name of sanity
she caresses your hank
down at the local spermbank

Dolly the sheep meets Frank the Stein...
